November

This month has just wizzed by us! Oliver had SO much fun playing in the leaves for the first time at his great-grandmother Evie's house. Surprizingly enough we had a few nice days and made it to the park, which is one of Oliver's favorite things to do. He loves the slides and playing with a ball in the field.
We were looking forward to some of our family visiting us this month for Thanksgiving. He did see his great uncles and great-grandmother last year, but he was only a few months old so he was not too fun to play with.

October

This October has gone by so fast, but filled with visitors from afar and lions. In the middle of the month, Oliver's grandparents, Teresa and Severo, from Mexico came to visit us for 2 weeks. It took Oliver a little bit to warm up to them, but after a few days he was inseparable from his grandpa Severo. He played with they while his parents were at work and they taught him how to cheer when somebody made a goal in soccer by holding up one arm and yelling "ahh". It is so funny because now when somebody cheers for something on TV, he holds up one arm and yells "ahh"!

For Halloween Oliver was a lion! He did not mind dressing up, but he would not let us paint whiskers on him, only a nose. We did not go trick-or-treating because it was cold out, but we did go by Aunt Melissa's house and by Grandpa's house.

Welcome

Well, it has been a very busy year, so I have delayed in posting an "Oliver Blog" until now. Sorry!

Oliver had a great 1st birthday party with his friends and family with a Fireman/ Firetruck theme. His best friends and family was there to celebrate with him and he had a lot of fun playing with them.

Oliver is now 13 months old and has such a great time where ever he goes. He is just starting to walk and laughs every step that he takes. It seems that he is so proud to be doing it on his own. He says a few words, including "mama, dada, papa, agua, sopa (soup in Spanish), duck, and bapa (for grandpa). He loves playing ball, just like his daddy did. He throws and ball and chases it by himself, or he throws or rolls it back and forth with somebody playing with him.

He loves bath time and cry's every time it is time to get out. He has learned to splash mom and the entire bathroom and loves making a mess (but what boy doesn't). He likes it when we start to read a book to him, but by the second page he takes over and reads it to us in his own little language. We hope that he is going to be a reader (like his grandma Julia). One of his other favorite things to do is dance and clap. He bobs his head and swings his arms to the music. He claps to the music sometimes and claps when somebody with him claps. He really likes copying with other people around him are doing.

When his mom is at work he plays with Aunt Chela and his cousin Brisa (who is 2 months older than Oliver), and sometimes his friend Nichaela (who is 3 weeks older), and they have a lot of fun together! They give each other kisses and play together. I think their favorite game is chase. It seems like they want to do everything together, which is great because I know that they will stick together when they get older.

Oliver's world is very simple right now, but we try to have fun with him and teach him things every day. We will continue to post new pictures of our family on this blog, and send out update emails when we do. Thanks for reading all about Oliver's World!
